Welcome to Campfire
These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of the Campfire platform ("Service") operated by Campfire ("us", "we", or "our"). By accessing or using our Service, you agree to be bound by these Terms.
Acceptance of Terms
By creating an account or using Campfire, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agree to be bound by these Terms and our Privacy Policy.
Who Can Use Campfire
Scout Organizations
Campfire is designed for officially chartered Scout troops, crews, ships, and packs affiliated with the Boy Scouts of America or similar recognized Scouting organizations.
- Must be an official Scout unit with proper registration
- Adult leaders must complete Youth Protection Training
- Must comply with your organization's policies and procedures
Age Requirements
- Adult Users (18+): Can create accounts and manage troop operations
- Youth Users (Under 18): Require parent/guardian permission and adult supervision
- Parents/Guardians: Can create accounts to support their Scout's participation
User Responsibilities
Account Security
- Keep your login credentials secure and confidential
- Use strong passwords and enable two-factor authentication when available
- Notify us immediately if you suspect unauthorized access to your account
- You are responsible for all activities that occur under your account
Appropriate Use
- Use Campfire only for legitimate Scout troop management purposes
- Follow all applicable laws, Scout policies, and community guidelines
- Respect the privacy and safety of all users, especially youth members
- Provide accurate and up-to-date information
Prohibited Activities
Zero Tolerance Policy
The following activities are strictly prohibited and may result in immediate account termination and reporting to appropriate authorities:
- ❌ Any form of harassment or bullying
- ❌ Inappropriate contact with youth members
- ❌ Sharing personal information of minors
- ❌ Uploading inappropriate content
- ❌ Attempting to hack or compromise security
- ❌ Spamming or unsolicited communications
- ❌ Violating Youth Protection policies
- ❌ Using fake or misleading information
Content and Data Ownership
Your Content
You retain ownership of all content you upload to Campfire, including photos, messages, and troop information. However, you grant us permission to:
- Store and display your content as part of the Service
- Process your content to provide Service features
- Back up your content for data protection purposes
Data Export
You can request an export of your troop's data at any time. We provide tools to download your information in standard formats, ensuring you're never locked into using Campfire.

Service Limitations

Privacy and Youth Protection
Youth Protection Compliance
Campfire is designed to comply with BSA Youth Protection policies and best practices for digital safety in youth organizations.
Safety Features
- No direct messaging between adults and youth
- All communications are supervised
- Photo sharing within troop community only
- Automatic reporting of inappropriate content
Privacy Controls
- Parents control youth member visibility
- Granular privacy settings
- No sharing of data outside troop community
- Right to data deletion
Limitation of Liability
Important Legal Notice: Campfire provides this service "as is" and makes no warranties about the completeness, reliability, or accuracy of the Service.
In no event shall Campfire be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including without limitation, loss of profits, data, use, goodwill, or other intangible losses.
Some states do not allow the exclusion of certain warranties or the limitation of liability for consequential damages, so the above limitations may not apply to you.
Account Termination
Termination by You
You may terminate your account at any time through your account settings or by contacting us.
- Download your data before termination
- Account deletion is permanent after 30 days
- Some data may be retained for legal compliance
Termination by Campfire
We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms or pose a risk to our community.
- Immediate termination for serious violations
- Warning and opportunity to correct minor violations
- Data export available for legitimate terminations

Changes to These Terms
