Not every event is for the whole unit. When you create or edit an event, you can invite everyone, or pick exactly who it's for. Most choices stay up to date on their own, so a Scout who joins next month is already on the list.

Pick who's invited

Choose Just some people instead of Everyone, then pick any mix of these:

  • All Scouts, All parents, All leaders or All adults. All leaders means adults who hold a role or lead a den. All parents means adults linked to a Scout in their family.
  • Dens or Patrols.
  • Your groups, the groups your unit has saved.
  • Roles, such as Treasurer or Committee Chair.
  • Also invite specific people, by name. People you name stay as picked, and nobody new is added to that part of the list.

Tap See who to read the full list and why each person is on it.

Include their parents

When a Scout is invited, turn on Include their parents to put their parents on the Attendees list, so you can see who hasn't answered. Parents can always see their Scout's events and RSVP, whether this is on or not.

Keep a meeting to the people invited

When no Scouts are invited, you can turn on Only show this to people invited. Everyone else, apart from people who can edit events, won't see it on the calendar, on home or in email. It also stays off your public website and out of calendar subscriptions, including for the people invited.

This keeps an event out of view. It isn't a privacy lock, and someone on an older version of the app may still see it. Please don't put anything confidential in an event.

Save a group

Tap Save this as a group on the event, or go to Members, then Groups, then New group. Give it a name like Committee or Philmont crew, then pick who's in it the same way. If you pick a role, anyone given that role joins automatically. You can pick your groups on events, in email and for new group chats.

A group can have an end date. Ending or deleting one only removes it from the lists you pick from. Events already using it keep their people.
