Photos are one of the most loved features in Campfire — a dedicated gallery that keeps your troop's memories organized and accessible to all families. This article explains how to upload photos and how albums work.
Campfire Pro feature
Photo uploads require a Campfire Pro plan. If you don't see the upload option, you may be on Campfire Basic — see Upgrade to Campfire Pro.
How to upload photos
- Open troopcampfire.app or the Campfire mobile app and go to the Photos tab in the bottom navigation.
- Tap + to add photos.
- Pick the event the photos belong to. This picker comes first, and it is required — every photo in Campfire belongs to an event.
- Choose photos from your device.
- Tap Add Photos. They appear in the gallery under that event.
Every photo belongs to an event
There is no general, event-less gallery. If the photos you want to post don't match an existing event, create the event first — then upload. This is what keeps the gallery organized by outing instead of becoming one long undated pile.
How albums work
- The Photos tab groups everything into albums by event, newest first, with the event's name and dates as the heading
- You can also upload straight from an event: open it and use Add Photos on the Details tab, which skips the event picker
- All troop members can view photos in the gallery
- Leaders can delete photos; uploaders can delete their own
Your photos stay private to your troop unless you turn on Show Photo Gallery for your public troop site — see Customize your public troop site before you enable it.
